Science PCB Ug course

BVSc is sometimes also referred to as BVSc and AH as a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry. For those who want to develop their career as a veterinary doctor, i.e. treatment of animals and their nourishment, the Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry or BVSc & AH, is a 5-year undergraduate programme. In this course, candidates will not only learn about animal anatomy, animal behaviour, diseases, animal treatment and laboratory studies, but they also encourage scientific breeding and livestock handling, which is a part of AH (Animal Husbandry).

Another part of this course is to enhance the breeding of animals using procedures such as ‘selection breeding’ and artificial insemination.

In addition to theory and lecture-based courses, students get to experience hands-on practice over the course of their studies. The programme also provides clinical experience and offers internships with leading office professionals.

ELIGIBILITY

  • The minimum required qualification is 10+2, with combined marks in physics, chemistry and biology of at least 50%.
  • It is mandatory that an applicant must have studied science with PCB or PCMB as a Compulsory Subject with English.

Yes, NEET scores include admissions to the BVSc course. The cut-off marks are declared by the exam conducting body i.e. NTA.

Are vet physicians same as general physicians?

Graduates from BVSc are too often referred to as doctors or mostly as veterinary physicians, but neither they treat nor surgery on human diseases. They are trained only in animal care. To treat human diseases, you need MBBS, BDS, BUMS, BHMS or other similar qualifications.
