Bachelor in computer application is a three-year undergraduate degree program. It mainly focused on computer applications.

BCA Course: Duration

Bachelor in Computer Application is an undergraduate degree course in computer application. BCA course is a 3year program. It’s divided into 6 semesters. Every year is divided into two semesters. And each semester comprises 6 months.

BCA Course: Basic Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidate should be a citizen of India.
  • A student can pursue a BCA course only after completing the class 12th. Also, if they have done an equivalent course from any recognized board then they can pursue it.
  • If a student has passed class 12th from any stream they can get admission to BCA. But there are some universities/colleges that offer BCA to those who have passed class 12th with PCM stream or should have maths as a main subject.
  • There is a minimum of 45% required to get admission. Every college/university has different eligibility criteria to get into BCA.

BCA Course: Age Limit

The maximum age limit for pursuing the BCA course is 21, 24 and 23 years for the general, SC/ST and girls candidate respectively. The minimum age should be 17 years for everyone.

NOTE: The age limit will totally depend on universities/colleges. Some of the universities/colleges do not have mentioned their age limit to pursue BCA like IGNOU.

Admission to the BCA program can be secured through an entrance exam or merit bases. In order to sit for the particular entrance exam, the student has to fulfil the basic eligibility criteria.
