BUMS course (Bachelor of Unani Medicine & Surgery), is a five-year undergraduate level degree program for the students who want to pursue medical knowledge and applications of the Unani system and surgery. Unani System of Medicine & Surgery is considered as one of the oldest medication systems in the world.
The Unani system of medicine is much different from regular medications (allopathy). According to the Unani medical system, the human body has the power to heal any disease or disorder naturally.
But the human needs to identify the healing power within themselves and enhance it through various exercises and meditation. It is helpful in the treatment of weight loss, kidney stone, psoriasis, diabetes, arthritis and many others.

ELIGIBILITY
- The minimum Qualification Required is 10+2, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
- It is mandatory that a candidate must have studied the science stream with PCB or PCMB.
- The minimum age of eligibility is 17 years. The upper age limit varies from college to college.
ADMISSION PROCESS FOR BUMS Course
In order to take admission for the BUMS course in any Government or Private colleges, candidates need to appear for Entrance exams, whether it be a National level (NEET), State level (MH CET, KEAM, BHU PMT), or University level (BVP CET).
Selection will be made on the basis of scores obtained either in National/State level entrance or in the University level entrance exam, which is approved by the Ministry of AYUSH.
The most common selection process for all the entrance exams is a counselling based selection process, where the exam conducting body releases merit lists with names of all qualifying candidates.
Counselling rounds are conducted by the authorities where candidates need to appear to select the course and college as per their choice and interests. They will be allotted suitable colleges and courses according to their marks.
For admissions in private universities, candidates need to show their NEET or any other Entrance exam score and other documents like a Counselling letter or any other required document.
