ELIGIBILITY for BMLT Course

  • The minimum Qualification Required is 10+2, with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.
  • It is mandatory that a candidate must have studied the science stream with PCB or PCMB.
  • The minimum age of eligibility is 17 years.
  • Candidates whose intermediate results are not out are also eligible to apply.

Admission Process for BMLT Course

Admission for the BMLT course in any colleges is provided on the basis of class 12th marks. Admissions offered in this course are from two different processes i.e. direct and lateral entry. Through the lateral entry procedure of admission, students will get direct admission to the 2nd year of the course.

There is no particular exam that is conducted for admission into the BMLT program. Some of the colleges may conduct their personal entrance examination.

1. What is the difference between BMLT and DMLT?

BMLT course generally consists of more theoretical part rather than practical, whereas DMLT is more like a short training program which focus on technical skills. They also differ in duration where BMLT is of three years and DMLT is of two years. So, BMLT is given higher priority than DMLT.

2. Can a PCM student do BMLT?

No, only those students who have studied Physics, Chemistry along with Biology as their main subject, are eligible for this course.

3. What kind of work is related to MLT?

Medical Laboratories generally involves work as a diagnosis of disease through various tests like a blood test, fluid test, stool test, MRI Scans, CT Scans, Ultrasound Scans, X-Ray and others.

4. Is NEET required for admissions in BMLT Course?

No, NEET is not required for admissions to this course. One can seek admission based on his/her 12th class marks i.e. admissions are provided on a merit-based system.
