BAMS course stands for Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery. Ayurveda is one of the therapy systems of the world. The ayurvedic system is a trustful medical system in order to cure, prevent, and rejuvenate. Most of the diseases that cannot treated by modern (allopathic medicine) medicines are treated by ayurvedic medicines.
Ayurveda has natural healing properties with having minimum side-effects because these medicines are made of herbs, vegetables, and plants, etc.

Breif Introduction
Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery is an integrated degree in the medical field. In which, the student used to study about allopathic as well as ayurvedic medicines. Ayurveda is one of the oldest (ancient ) medical systems of the world.
Duration
BAMS course is of 5years and 6months undergraduate professional certified course. In which, 4years & 6months are of the academic session and the remaining one year is completed with a compulsory internship. The BAMS course is separated into 3 sections of 1.5 years each. And, these sections are called professional course which will be discussed later.

Who are Eligible?
Educational Qualification:
- Class 12th or equivalent examination with PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology).
- A minimum of 50% for general and 45% for the reserved categories are mandatory in order to eligible for pursuing this course.
Age Limit:
The upper age limit for the general category is 20 years and 24 years for the reserved category.
Admission Process
Mostly the college takes admission on the basis of entrance exam NEET is the only national level entrance exam for admission into government and private reputed medical college. In order to appear for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test, you need to eligible. Also, you need to pass the cut-off score in order to apply for counselling process. Three round of Counselling process is conducted for government, government-funded, and deemed colleges.

Most of the subjects and topics deal with the traditional methods of healing. Both theory and practicals are provided so that the student become expert in Ayurveda.
