An average brain can remember 7 things at a time. Also, most of us can’t remember things for a longer duration. It is because our brain is like that. It automatically eliminates things that we don’t focus on.

The haptic lifestyle has affected our brain’s capacity to remember things. But we can maximize this capacity by doing a few simple practices. What are they?

Whenever you find something difficult to learn, try to know the story behind it. Suppose you have to learn any physics theory, then try to know how the theory was formulated, what is the story behind the experiments. Stories are easy to remember as they are often interesting.

ACRONYMS

This is a very effective and old hack to remember long terms and formulas. This cut downs a long word into simple words that are easy to recall with their first letters. CHUNKING For Memorization

Chunking is a process where large information is grouped into small pieces of information. which makes it easier to remember. For example, a large number can be remembered when grouped into small numbers, like 23121963 can be grouped into 23-12-1963, as a date format.

TEST YOURSELF

Don’t forget to test yourself. Take a self-assessment from time to time. Find your weak points and work more on it. In this way, you can master a particular topic.

SHARE WITH OTHERS

A popular saying is “Knowledge increases through sharing”. When you teach someone what you have learned, your ability to explain that topic defines the level of knowledge you have gained. When you teach someone, he asks you questions, and if you can answer him, you have mastered the subject.

PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE

Don’t get overconfident. Practice the same things to make it your habit. Once things become your habit, you don’t have to spend your memory to recall it. Like you eat, you sleep, you brush, you talk, etc. This will not occupy your memory space and makes it free for gaining more information.
