Science PCM Ug course

Bachelor of Science or BSc course is the most popular and common course among Science students in India. It is a traditional and theory-oriented course, only 30% is practical and 70% is the theory in this course.

BSc course is a bachelor’s degree that can be done right after class 12th Science. Students have two ways to do this course. The First is simple BSc and the second is BSc. Hons. The science student is applicable for both methods. So, they can pick any one of them.

Duration

In India, the BSc course is a 3-years undergraduate course but it is not compulsory to have the same duration in every country. The duration of this course may vary from country to country. It may follow the semester pattern or year pattern, totally depends on the college’s academic structure. In the Semester pattern, there will be 6 semesters.

Course Structure

I told you that BSc can be pursued in two ways. So, if you are interested in general/simple BSc. then you have to choose three main subjects like PCM, PCB, etc. But if you are interested in BSc honors then you can choose only one subject like physics, chemistry, biology, zoology, mathematics, etc.

Eligibility Criteria for BSc course

The minimum eligibility criteria for this academic program will vary from college to college. But the basic eligibility required to pursue a BSc course are discussed below:

  1. First of all, it is important to pass class 12th from a recognized board. Appearing candidates are also acceptable.
  2. The Science stream should be there in the 12th standard in order to make a career in the BSc field.
  3. A Minimum of 50% is required for this course, but it will totally depend upon College/University.
  4. There is no upper age limit but 18 years is the lower age limit.

NOTE: Students have the freedom to choose any branch/subject to pursue BSc. But the course would be relevant to the subject of intermediate.

Admission Process

Admission to the BSc course can be through an entrance exam or through the marks of class 12th. There are many colleges/universities that offer BSc courses with many branches/specialization. Previously, mostly admissions are done through a merit basis but now it is possible through the entrance exam.

OUAT Entrance Exam

OUAT Entrance Exam is a university level entrance exam. The OUAT exam will be conducted by the Orissa University Agriculture and Technology. This entrance exam is conducted every year for admission into the UG, PG, Ph.D., and other courses like diploma and certificate courses.

AIEEA

All Indian Entrance Exam for Admission is conducted by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). AIEEA is conducted every year in the month of June. It is a national level entrance examination that offers admission in the Bachelor’s degree & Master’s degree program.

UPCATET

UP Combined Agriculture and Technology Entrance Test is a state level entrance exam. It provide admission to Uttar Pradesh State domicile candidates in different UG and PG programs. It is conducted by Banda College of Agriculture & Technology. And it is conducted every year in the month of may.

BHU UET

BHU Undergraduate Entrance Test is mainly conducted by Banaras Hindu University for the admission to various undergraduate courses including BSc. This entrance exam is also organized in the month of May.

DUET

Delhi University Entrance Test is a national level entrance exam. It is conducted by the National Testing Agency for the admission in various undergraduate, postgraduate, MPhil, Ph.D. courses. The exam is conducted in CBT mode and shortlisted on the basis of the performance in the entrance exam.

On clearing NET, they can become eligible for a Ph.D. program. So there are various postgraduate courses on completing a Bachelor of Science like MCA, MBA, PGDM, and other diploma courses.
