The full form of BE is Bachelor of Engineering. BE Course in India is one of the professional degree programs. It’s a 4-year undergraduate course that is divided into 8 semesters. The bachelor of engineering is mainly focused on a theoretical and conceptual part.

BE course is a professional and reputed course so it is valid all over the world. BE course in India is quite similar to the BTech course. There is some minor difference that differentiates both the course.

Bachelor of Engineering is a knowledge-oriented course while Bachelor of Technology is a skill-oriented course. That means BE is mainly focused on theory and BTech is focused on practical.

There is no change in the syllabus of BE course and it is not updated while the syllabus of BTech is updated because it depends on technology. So whenever new technology discovers or upgraded, the syllabus of BTech also upgraded. General University/College offers BE course but only a specified institute/college offers BTech course.

The course curriculum of BE course is mainly focused on theoretical and conceptual knowledge. First-year of BE course has the almost same syllabus in every branch. And rest three years of BE course has a different syllabus for a different branch.

There is a numerous branch in BE course like mechanical, civil, Computer science, electrical, aerospace engineering, etc. So a student can opt for any specialization on the basis of their interest.

Though some of the branches of BE course is in trending/demanding like- mechanical, Computer science, IT, electronics and communication, mechatronics, electrical engineering, etc. These are the specialization that most of the aspirants applied across the nation. Bachelor of Engineering is a 4-year undergraduate degree program. It is divided into 8 semesters. There are two semesters in one year. That means 8 semesters are in 4 years.

Eligibility: BE Course in India

  • The candidate who wants to pursue BE course, have to pass class 12th with PCM stream.
  • Physics, Chemistry, and Maths are mandatory subjects.
  • Maximum 75% is required to get admission to BE course.

Admission Process: BE Course in India

Admission mainly depends upon entrance examination. Some of the popular colleges/universities conduct their own entrance exams. The selection of specialization is purely dependent upon rank that came in the entrance exams. Some of the colleges give admission to BE courses on a merit basis.

So a candidate must have a minimum of 50 % in class 12th. It depends on the norms of college. Entrance exams are held at the national level, state level, and university level.

Age limit: BE Course in India

The minimum age limit to pursue BE course is 17 years and upper age limit is 21 years. But there is no necessity for every college to have an age limit to pursue BE course.
